Our methodology develops itself from the approach of the ‘’Community development’’. It is characterized by:
To promote the community engagement means opening spaces for the citizens participation, in which they could experiment forms of active citizenship that ,overcoming the classical logics of claim and complaints, would be able to develop sense of responsibility and to create understanding and trustful relationships between social actors.
Doing Community development means orienting the action and improving relationships between local member, facing conflicts and removing blocks that impede the expression of resources and of latent potentiality, in order to promote the definition of a shared collective identity that allows the development of new ways of individual and collective living.
In order to facilitate processes of collective assumption of responsibility we search for:
- The mobilization of human resoures in order to identify and solve problems that involve the community
- The activation and support to collaboration processes among the actors of a system
- The facilitation of participation processes of in power of the system
- The development of relationships that could empower the dimension of confidence,of the sense of belonging and of the sense of community
- The development of skills and competences by the side of community members.
The aim of the network’ activity is to promote procedure in which introduce the concept of relationship as fundamental element of the social structure, and the concept of circularity between the formal and the informal field as element of the action and of social policies.
The interventions take place on the level of the secondary formal network, Institutions and Servces, and on that of informal secondary network, associations, organizations, groups, committees.
In the Community work the strategies of connection and the structural characteristics of networks are variable elements, defined depending on the context and on the objectives of specific actions.
The aim is that of promoting the increase in the citizen of the sense of ownership of their problems, placing people in the condition of taking-charge of the problematics in which they are involved, in order to activate resolving paths.
The concept of active citizenship makes reference to the chance for people to assume the responsibility of their own existence conditions and appears as way to fight on personal level the sense of powerlessness that produces unemployment, resignationa, anger, for the promotion of a protagonist citizen, aware of his own rights but also of the complexities in which he moves and able to negotiate his needs and points of view.
The concept of active citizenship, whose fundamental nucleus is represended by the sense of social responsibility, it can’t prescind from the entrenchment and from the sense of belonging to the community and finds in the local community the privileged environment for its concrete application. In this context associations, groups and informal networks are precious and unique resources for the social safeguard and in order to give faith to the citizens whose quality of life is always more determined by macrosocial factors that make individuals and communities to feel powerless.
